The proposed course is intended to comply with 29 CFR 1910.120 and 8 CCR 5192(q).

This 8-hour course trains first responders at the operations level to respond to releases or potential releases of hazardous substances as part of an initial response.

Course participants will learn how to protect nearby persons, property, or the environment from the effects of a hazmat release by responding in a defensive fashion without actually trying to stop the release.

This course will train personnel to contain the release from a safe distance, keep it from spreading, and prevent exposures.
